FOOD FOR THOUGHT !!!
A wonderful depiction is this cartoon that aptly demonstrates man's obsession trying to fit a square peg into a round hole !! This really set me pondering !! What is it that urges him to insanity ?
It is firmly ingrained in us that "Everyone and everything in this universe is created for a prime purpose". Thus, each minute particle has a role to play in the universe - however big ... however small ... however seemingly insignificant it is.
If that's the belief then each one of us is unique as being "me" ..... spokes in a wheel, serving a destined purpose. So why not celebrate this uniqueness. You are not more or any less than someone else. There is someone out there who appreciates your worth ... flaws and all ... that's your identity.
There is a place out there where "Black is beautiful", where being humble and tolerant does not translate to mean "submissive", where having less does not necessarily translate to mean "dirt" and where having more makes one far from enriched !!
Predators like the sharks devour small fishes in the ocean and are in turn mercilessly hunted by man . The same creator who created these beings, in all his wisdom also gave each creature a unique gift of self-preservation, to defend themselves in the face of attack. A tiny ant can cause you to cringe in pain with a small sting. It definitely won't do to cross the path of angry bees! Reassuring too is the fact that creepy crawlies only attack when they are trodden over.
In other words, the world would be a far better place if every being acts within his territory and learns to respect another's space and position, whatever be it. There will come times when it is near impossible to share the same space without toppling the other. Wouldn't it be better to gracefully acknowledge supremacy instead of rubbing it in their faces? Wouldn't it be better if each one acknowledges that no two beings were made with the same mould and thus there are bound to be differences ... difference in colour, in nature, in social status, in intelligence ...., so on and so forth?
Lets celebrate little victories and learn from mistakes and draw strength from that to enhance our uniqueness. There can only be one "you". Isn't that reassuring ?
LIVE n LET LIVE !
